A fuel crisis is forcing trained teams across Africa to turn away cases.
The investigators are ready.
The partners are prepared.
The victims are waiting.
But without the fuel needed to respond, some trafficking cases cannot move forward.
This World Day Against Trafficking, help fund 30 case responses and ensure that no victim is left waiting because of a lack of resources.
17 of 30 Cases Funded
$350 = ONE RESCUE CASE
Across Africa, trafficking takes many forms.
Watch the stories of frontline responders, local partners, and communities working together to protect the vulnerable and pursue justice.
This documentary provides a behind-the-scenes look at Lantern Rescue’s work and why these 30 case responses matter.
Every week, reports of trafficking and exploitation reach Lantern Rescue’s partners across Africa.
The need is urgent.
The teams are trained.
The response plans are ready.
Yet rising fuel costs and transportation challenges are creating a devastating reality:
Some cases are being delayed or turned away because teams need the resources to reach them.
For a child trapped in exploitation, every hour matters.
No victim should have to wait for freedom because transportation costs stand in the way of rescue.
ONE CASE. ONE OPPORTUNITY FOR FREEDOM.
When a trafficking report comes in, the work has only begun.
Your $350 funds the transportation and operational resources needed to help teams respond when a victim needs help.
But each one begins with a team having the resources to say:
Trafficking looks different across communities, but every victim deserves freedom.
Children are often separated from their families and isolated from friends, community, and support systems. Promised care, education, or opportunity, they instead endure long hours of forced labor while being deprived of basic needs such as food, safety, rest, and attention. Many suffer severe physical abuse, punishment, and neglect at the hands of those who exploit them.
Children and young girls are groomed, controlled, and sexually exploited for the profit of others. Some endure years of abuse behind closed doors, robbed of their childhood, safety, and dignity. Every victim is someone’s daughter, and every child deserves the chance to grow up free from exploitation and fear.
Girls and young women are subjected to horrific sexual abuse in which they are assaulted with the intent to draw blood for ritual practices. These crimes target the vulnerable, inflicting deep physical and emotional trauma while stripping victims of their dignity and safety.
In some regions, vulnerable children are targeted for ritual sacrifice—one of the most horrific forms of exploitation Lantern Rescue encounters. Victims are abducted, mutilated, sacrificed, or left for dead at the hands of perpetrators seeking power, wealth, or influence through these violent acts. These crimes leave families devastated and communities living in fear. Lantern Rescue works alongside trusted local partners to support investigations, rescue survivors, and provide critical care and support. Our teams diligently pursue the perpetrators and witch doctors responsible so that they will be held accountable for their crimes.
In 18 months Lantern’s Africa teams have:
